It’s improved but ….

For a notebook app that is fairly pricey and one that has been around for a while, there are a number of areas that are still very weak. These are things that should have been corrected in this update. For example:

When you “tab” at the start of a paragraph, the entire paragraph is indented rather than just the first line.
You cannot continue typing or re-select while the text colour palette is open … frustrating and a waste of time.
You cannot use “Transformations” to change text to Upper or Lower case.
You cannot use System keyboard Preferences to define shortcut keys for common menu actions.
You cannot select default tabs for a document. In fact there is no ruler to allow tab selection.

These are commonly used functions that one would expect to find (or at least to work properly) in the most basic of text editors.

The overall concept is good … This version is definitely better than the last.
