I run my entire life using Notebooks
I’ve been a beta tester of Notebooks for a couple of years. I use it to organize pretty much everything in my life. Its big advantage is that I can drop any kind of file and it serves as a quick repository, organizer, and MulitMarkdown editor. It keeps in sync with the iPhone and iPad versions via DropBox.
The closest other product out there is Evernote. While not as polished as Evernote, I find Notebooks to be much cleaner. I can quickly find what I want, can edit text quickly (markdown is a real boon). Furthermore, my Evernote content is stored on their servers and can only be navigated and manipulated with their rather cluttered interface.
Notebooks keeps content in a DropBox folder hierarchy. I can get directly to content when needed, and it lives on all my machines in formats I can get to and open in or out of Notebooks.
In short, the combination of the desktop app and mobile apps gives me everything I need to organize my work life and keep everything in one place, easily accessible.
